18/ 7/2008
Tickets for this weekend’s Farnborough Airshow are expected to sell out, its organisers have said.
Fine weather and an action-packed agenda are expected to attract crowds of 80,000 people to the event despite the Royal International Air Tattoo Show being held in Gloucestershire at the same time.
A five-hour flying display and a performance by the Red Arrows are among the attractions in store.
More than 160 aircraft on display including several civil and military aircraft’s will also be on display.
People wishing to attend are being advised to tune into Farnborough Radio 106.8FM or check out the airshow's website, www.farnborough.com, before leaving home to check if tickets are still available.
Attendees travelling by car should leave home early to give themselves plenty of time to get to the show or can avoid congestion by taking the train.
Food and drink will be available on site but families are advised to come prepared with bottled water, refreshments, sun hats and sun block to keep safe and hydrated.
A free shuttle bus will run from Farnborough Main, Aldershot and North Camp railway stations to transport people to and from the show.
