New hotel lands with prize giveaway

23/ 7/2008

LUCKY commuters and Farnborough residents could win a prize in a giveaway to mark the opening of a new hotel.

Staff from the Aviator hotel, based at Farnborough Airport, will be at the town’s main railway station on Thursday morning and evening to hand out 1,000 foam planes, 50 of which contain prizes like overnight stays, dinner for two or cocktails in the hotel.

The times for the stunt are 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm.

The Aviator, owned by TAG Aviation and run by Unique Hotels, opened on Monday after previously hosting invitation-only guests during the Farnborough Airshow.

It has 169 bedrooms, a brasserie, deli and bar, an exercise studio and private function rooms.

The hotel took about 18 months to build, at a cost of £30m.

It is aimed primarily at air travellers using the airport, but sales director Elise Roberts said: “We do want it to be somewhere that the locals can come and enjoy themselves as well.”
