Crack house to remain closed
4/ 8/2008
A drug den that turned a residential street into a place where “parents were scared to let their children out” will remain closed.
Aldershot magistrates granted a three-month extension to the crack house closure order on 16 Coe Close, Aldershot, that the court put in place on May 2.
Hampshire police say the time will be used to find the mother of the drug dealer — who sold cocaine from the property — a new home.
Mina Peace’s son Melville used the premises in the production, supply or use of Class A drugs, the court heard.
She is currently living with her other son Jason, but wants to move into her own accommodation.
Sgt Debbie Barns told the court that if Mina Pearce was able to return to the address, Melville Pearce would use it for drug supply.
She warned the court that if a formal eviction order was put in place, Ms Pearce, who has schizophrenia, would not be re-housed.
