A cannabis factory discovered in a quiet residential area in Aldershot has left residents shocked and worried.

Police discovered around 170 plants of the drug growing in pots and trays in a rented property in Mount View in Church Lane East last Monday (October 6).

Officers were called to the home following a report of a fight outside but nobody was there when they arrived on the scene at around 10.45pm.

They discovered the drug farm after entering the property, which was unlocked.

According to residents, extra lights were installed in the ceiling and water poured on to the carpets where the drug was planted, causing extensive damage to the property.
