Fireworks night will be explosive

21/10/2008

Fleet Lions are preparing to light up the sky at their firework fiesta on The Views on Saturday November 1.

Fleet Lions president Jim Storey promised this year’s extravaganza would be the best yet.

He said: “We will set off over £3,500 worth of fireworks and be selling burgers and soft drinks, plus mulled wine for the adults.

“Come early for the spectacular fire display. A magical night is in store — don’t miss it.”

There will be free parking in the Harlington Centre and Victoria Road car parks in Fleet.

Admission is £4 for adults and £3 for senior citizens and children aged under 14.

A special £10 family ticket for two adults and two children can be bought at the Lions’ Houses of Parliament display in the Hart Shopping Centre, Fleet, on Saturdays.

Mr Storey thanked everyone who attended last year’s firework fiesta, which raised £13,000 for local charities. He said: “Nearly 4,000 people attended and a great time was had by young and old alike. They ate their way through 650 burgers and 600 hot dogs.” Gates open at 5.30pm. The display starts at 6.30pm.
