A man who was jailed for killing two teenagers in a car crash was stabbed to death on Sunday, a post-mortem examination has confirmed.
Dwayne Ayres, from Yateley, died at Frimley Park Hospital on Sunday morning after an incident in Hook.
Six people are still being held by police on suspicion of murder and three others on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
Mr Ayres had recently been released from prison after he was jailed in October following the car smash last year.
The 20-year-old caused the deaths of Callum Forbes, 15, and 18-year-old John Bryant when he crashed his car outside Calthorpe Park School in Fleet in March 2007.
Police launched a murder inquiry following Mr Ayres' death.
He had been driven to hospital in a car after apparently being "seriously injured" at about 2am at a house in Holt Way, Hook, police said.
"Greatly missed"
Mr Ayres, of Cricket Hill Lane, Yateley, had a partner, Emily, and an 18-month-old son.
In a statement released on Monday afternoon, his family paid tribute to a "lovely, caring son".
They added: "He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him for what he was and will always be remembered for.
“He had just started to live his new life with his love Emily and their son Richard.
“The family and the large extended family of relatives and friends will miss Dwayne and we would ask everyone to respect their privacy at this time of tragedy.”
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Mathews said: “A number of lines of inquiry are being investigated at this stage.
“We will not be drawn on the specifics behind the motives of this attack, particularly as a number of people are in custody.
“We would urge anyone with information about the incident who hasn’t already contacted us to do so as soon as possible and in confidence.”
Anyone with information should call the Operation Larkspur investigation team on 0845 045 45 45, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
