Plane crashes at Blackbushe
March 02, 2009
An aeroplane crashed into a hedge shortly after taking off from Blackbushe Airport on Saturday afternoon.
Tony Hyatt was walking his dog near to the airport at about 4.15pm and saw the incident.
He told Get Hampshire he saw the Super Aero 45 become airborne but it only made about 20 ft in altitude before coming down.
Fire crews from Rushmoor, Yateley, Fleet and Hartley Wintney and a special equipment unit from Basingstoke attended the scene.
The passengers were taken to hospital for treatment and later released.
Mr Hyatt said: “It veered across and yawed around a bit and then disappeared behind other aircraft and then I saw a cloud of dust.”
A spokesman from Blackbushe said the airport's emergency services attended the scene immediately.
He said the Air Accident Investigation Bureau will examine the incident.
