Andre and Jordan both scheduled for Fleet visit?

TWO celebrities currently going through a high-profile divorce could be in the same town Friday night.

Organisers of different events say Peter Andre and estranged wife Katie Price have been invited to attend events just a few hundreds yards from each other in Fleet.

While singer Peter appears at Jaxx nightclub in front of a sell-out crowd, Katie and her cage-fighter boyfriend Alex Reid are due to attend a charity evening in aid of Help For Heroes at Bamboo Bar.

However, Hampshire Police has issued a statement clarifying reports about the appearances.

It says: “Rumours have been circulating that the former couple are due to appear at different venues in the town, causing concern from residents of large numbers of fans and potential public order issues.

“Peter Andre is booked to make a personal appearance at Jaxx nightclub.

However, information suggesting that Katie Price is appearing at nearby Bamboo Bar is false.

“Officers have spoken to Ms Price’s management team which has confirmed that she will be attending a book signing and promotional event in Birmingham.

“Bamboo Bar management has also explained that fliers they have sent out say a ‘possible appearance’ and that nothing was confirmed.”

Hart Safer Neighbourhoods Inspector Geoff Scrutton said: “We work very closely with the licensed premises in Fleet to ensure everyone who visits venues in the town has a safe and enjoyable evening.

“This includes the management of celebrity appearances to make sure that people attending such events can have a good time alongside everyone else who makes use of surrounding facilities.

“Anyone who is thinking of coming to Fleet to specifically see Katie Price should check with the venue before travelling to ensure they are not going to be disappointed.

“Antisocial behaviour as a result of the night time economy was identified by residents as a priority for the area and we have worked extremely hard to tackle these concerns.

“Anyone who comes to the town centre to cause trouble will be dealt with robustly.”

Shane Traylen, who runs the Bamboo Bar with his business partner Clare Stacey, said he was hoping Katie and Alex could still attend their fundraising launch party.

“What was meant to be a quiet drink now seems to have got out of hand,” he said.

“Alex is a friend of mine and he and his girlfriend are coming to my bar – it’s no big deal.

“Alex and myself put on fight shows and we also raise money for Help For Heroes.

"We’re both from Aldershot and have a lot of army guys who come to our training sessions and shows.

“We are hoping to raise money for charity and have a drink.”

Mr Traylen added: “I can’t say for sure that they will come and I don’t want to be misleading the public.

“If Katie turns up, she turns up – if she doesn’t, she doesn’t.

“We haven’t got a contract with her so she doesn’t have to come but she will definitely come to the bar at some point, even if it’s not Friday night.”

Singer Peter, 36, and 31-year-old Katie – aka glamour model Jordan – are expected to finalise their divorce when their decree absolute comes through in about two weeks
