By Rebecca Connop PriceOctober 15, 2009
AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD boy was thrown into the air after he was struck in a hit and run incident in Blackwater.
Police are appealing for the driver of a Ford Focus to contact them following the hit and run in Frogmore Road on Thursday October 8.
At about 5.05pm, the boy was crossing Frogmore Road, when he was struck by a black Ford Focus.
The boy was thrown into the air and landed on the pavement. He suffered serious injuries and was treated at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey.
The driver of the vehicle stopped briefly before driving off at speed towards Reading Road.
The driver is described as white, aged in his mid 30s, with short blond or brown hair.
PC Geoffrey Hill, from the Yateley Targeted Patrol Team, said: “I am asking the driver of the Focus to have a conscience and come forward to the police.
“An eight-year-old boy has been left lying in the road and the driver appears to have made little or no attempt to stop and help.
“I would also like anyone who witnessed this collision or knows who the driver of the vehicle is to contact the police.”
Anyone with any information should contact PC Hill at Yateley police station on 101 or the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Callers from outside Hampshire can contact 0845 045 45 45.
