The Prince of Wales in Farnborough has won the a regional Pub of the Year competition.
The Rectory Road locals' favourite has won the prestigious Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) award, making it one of the top 16 pubs in the country.
The award will be presented by Camra regional director John Buckley on Thursday November 19 as landlord Peter Moore celebrates 25 years at the pub.
The Prince beat nine other finalists across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands to reach the title. It now goes forward to be judged against other pubs nationwide for the chance to become Camra's National Pub of the Year.
Landlord Peter Moore is a great supporter of real ale and local breweries such as Hogs Back and Ascot Ales, with five regular beers available and five guest beers.
Judges also praised the pub as a "thriving local" providing a community focus, organising events ranging from golf days to wine tastings.
Mr Buckley said, “With the threat to the traditional British pub never being so great, the outstanding dedication by Peter and his staff for traditional ales and a community focus makes it a deserving winner."
Mr Moore said: “It is a great privilege to receive this award. May I say a big thank you to all our staff, and the customers who have supported us to make our freehouse an enjoyable and unique place to visit."
