THE NEW chairman of Hart District Council, Colin Ive, has announced his chosen charities for the year.
Cllr Ive has declared Help for Heroes, the charity for injured British servicemen and women, as his main cause during his year of office, and plans to hold a series of fundraising events throughout the year.
In nominating the charity, he pointed out the district's long-standing link with the Armed Forces through bases such as RAF Odiham and Gibraltar Barracks in Minley.
Generous
He said: “I shall be holding a variety of fundraising events during the year and I hope that the public will be as generous as usual in recognition of the work done by our servicemen and women.”
His second charity will be the Brian Randall Trust Fund, which was set up to help a Yateley youngster who was born with severe cerebral palsy.
