Part of man's ear severed in pub attack

June 30, 2010

A MAN had part of his ear ripped off during an assault at a pub on Sunday evening.

Between 7pm and 8.30pm, the 26-year-old victim was attacked at The Albion pub in Waterloo Road, Aldershot.

He suffered head injuries and a severed ear lobe, police said.

PC Terence Read, from the Farnborough Targeted Patrol Team, said: "We believe several people were involved in this incident and there were many more people at the pub at the time.

"We would ask anyone who was there and witnessed it to come forward and contact us as soon as possible."

A 26-year-old man from Aldershot and a 31-year-old man from Bracknell have been arrested and bailed.

Anyone with information can contact PC Read at Farnborough police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Well look at this, only a week or so after i made my comments on this news story, the excuse for a council have upped parking, justification being it hasn't risen in 6 years, well on that basis the quality of the town has reduced somewhat in 6 years where is the reduction in our waste of time tax ? Why cannot we employ a mobile phone copper whose sole task is to issue on the spot fines to drivers floating the law, he or she would raise thousands per day from our army of builder ( or so called trades) while that person is doing this they could confiscate 10 cars per day with no tax or insurance this blows parking charges out of the water!!

wickeed: you have summed up what Aldershot has been ALLOWED to become quite nicely.

The government should look at the lessons learned - reducing numbers of army personnel has created a vacuum, lack of investment in the town has meant that the vacuum is being filled by the 'socially deprived'.

Savage cuts, more relocation of military and the civil service risks creating more towns like Aldershot.

Hey, I totally agree with some of the views of the demise of Aldershot, well especially the town centre. But this was a fight in a pub, I should think this happend in most towns up and down the country...yes even in Fleet and Farnham luvvies. (granted not too many lost an ear)

Be careful what you say about the make up of Aldershot, Wickeed... There are plenty of do gooders reading the news here that are just waiting to take offence to things like that.

"What happerned to the police in Aldershot police station which is just along from this pub?"

What do you mean? I cant see anything which says the police didn't attend, are you suggesting they should ahve got there before they were told about this to prevent it?

Aldershot lets face it is a working or non working man town people who fight at the drop of a hat, people drive illegally unchallenged, sat on phones talking to their many divorcees. Police do naff all about this I only ever see them on a football day. It's full of polish or Nepalese who have the driving skills of a goat herder. Town center is an abandoned place having no shops of quality and a council that has abandoned them in a misguided view that of issuing parking tickets will make it a brighter place.

The best thing to do if you go into pubs like this is to sellotape back your ears before you go in so that they don't get bitten off. Many rugby players do this.

Welcome to Aldershot! Or should I say "Welcome to the jungle" Guns and Roses, 1988. I don`t think Aldershot can get any worse. All we need now is for a few firearms to be added into the equation and we can experience first hand open street battles like we see on tv in Jamica, America and London. Oh sorry, I forgot. There are already 20 replica AK47,s out there waiting to be converted into real weapons! But hey don`t worry, Hampshire police are on the ball.
