More job losses on the cards at Qinetiq

MORE jobs are to go at one of Farnborough’s largest employers one year after it last cut back on staff.

Defence and technology firm Qinetiq, which employs around 2,000 people at its corporate headquarters on the Cody Technology Park, announced on Tuesday that 130 jobs would go from there as it began a 90-day consultation with staff and unions.

There will be 391 jobs cut at Qinetiq sites across the UK. The company said a “challenging business environment” caused by less business from the Ministry of Defence, one of its main clients, was to blame.

Last year, Qinetiq cut more than 100 jobs at Farnborough for the same reason.

Why bother with the 90 day consulatation process. Management have alraedy made their minds up anyway. Qinetiq are getting rid of yet more good hard working people at the bottom of the ladder. Same old story.
