Police raid Blackwater cannabis factory
By Tim TonkinJuly 13, 2010
A MAN has been arrested and bailed following a police raid on an address in Blackwater that uncovered a cannabis factory.
Officers discovered the factory at a property in Minley Road on July 4 while investigating a separate, unrelated incident.
Police found around 40 plants and associated equipment in an upstairs bedroom in the property, with a further 30 seedlings discovered in a downstairs alcove.
A 22-year-old Blackwater man has since been arrested and bailed in connection with the discovery.
Commitment
PC Ben Wagstaff, from the Yateley Targeted Patrol Team, said the seizure meant that officers had prevented the drugs from falling into the hands of dealers on the street.
He said: “This discovery means these drugs will now never reach our streets and is all part of our commitment to shutting down factories of this type wherever and whenever they spring up.”
Anyone with information about this incident or any similar properties should contact Yateley police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
