A GARDEN shed was burnt down in the early hours of Wednesday, the fire brigade said.

A man from West Heath Road, Cove, noticed his shed was on fire at 5am on Wednesday, July 21.

He called Rushmoor fire station and two fire engines and nine firefighters were sent from the Lynchford Road station in Farnborough to put out the blaze.

Completely destroyed

Firefighter Williams, who attended the scene, said: "The shed was completely destroyed but from the remains of it, we couldn’t tell if there was anything of great value in there.

"The owner was shocked to see his shed on fire at such an early time of the day and wants to investigate why it happened.

"He is not sure how it could have set on fire."

It took the crew half an hour to put out the flames.
