Airport stars in new Leonardo DiCaprio film
By Jack SommersJuly 22, 2010
FARNBOROUGH Airport makes a return to the cinema this week alongside Titanic star Leonardo DiCaprio.
The airport, which was previously used to film scenes from the Bond film Quantum of Solace, starring Daniel Craig, hosted film crews again for scenes from this summer’s sci-fi blockbuster Inception, with Leonardo DiCaprio.
The Farnborough shots were filmed in July last year and the film was released last Friday.
In the scene filmed at the airport, Leonardo DiCaprio’s character – a man who uses technology to infiltrate people’s dreams and steal ideas from their subconscious – and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, another of the lead actors, disembark from a private jet with Farnborough’s futuristic-looking terminal and hangar visible in the background.
As they leave the plane, a man whose mind they have just tried to steal from gives them a job of infiltrating another man to place an idea in his head – a process called ‘inception’.
