'Psychic' predicted lottery syndicate win

By Jack Sommers
January 06, 2011

A GROUP of work colleagues have scooped £1m on the lottery, after a ‘psychic’ co-worker predicted a win.

The syndicate of 15 workers from West London Training in Aldershot are sharing the prize, which was won on the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle on Christmas Eve.

Each is £66,666.66 better off thanks to catering manager Ocean Kinge, whose predictions they would win spurred them to start the syndicate.

Most of the 15 winners found out about the success during their New Year’s Eve celebrations.

And it took some convincing to make them believe it was not a joke.

One member of the syndicate, Ron Steggles, only found out about the win on January 4 when he returned from holiday and he said he still could not believe his good luck.

Ms Kinge, who said she first discovered her ‘gift’ at 19, has given psychic readings for friends and family in the past.

She started the syndicate with her colleagues when she had “a very strong feeling” there would be a £1m win before the end of the year.

She said: “I don’t usually talk about my psychic gift at work but I was convinced we were going to win a million and felt I had to start the syndicate so I could share the good fortune.

“We began playing the EuroMillions in October and only discovered our Christmas Eve win on New Year’s Eve – seems I was true to my word about a win by the end of 2010.”

She added: “I try to help those around me as best I can and this windfall means I can really look after my friends and family.

“I have three sons and they will all benefit from the win. My youngest has always dreamt of a trip to Thailand and may now be winging his way to the exotic land, care of mum.”

Her premonitions are not leaving her alone – she also has another “strong feeling” that someone close to her will have a big win in March.

The Christmas Eve EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle created 25 millionaires, all in the UK – 23 winners have now come forward to claim their prize.

The National Lottery is urging players to check their tickets to claim the final two outstanding prizes.

The syndicate’s winning ticket was purchased at Co-op, in Ash Street, Aldershot.

tinks 41 - please reread my comment. Nothing in my text is a criticism, just a tounge in cheek laugh at my own hoplessness with the lottery and my granny's claim to be psychic - so (a) where's your sense of humour and (b) please don't throw insults.

A nice windfall in tought economic times - well done!

EVERY weekend I tell my wife "I've a good feeling about this one" and yet 24 weeks out of 25 I get nothing - about one week in 25 I get a tenner. My wife remembers only the 1 in 25 and thinks I've an uncanny gift. Am I psychic? - no way! Optimistic? - definitely!

Maybe I've been short changed in the 'genes' department. My grandmother claimed to have psychic gifts (I think the family concensus was that couldn't foresee a christmas party even if she was sent a written invitation).
