Bogus workmen target Farnborough OAPs

By Jack Sommers
August 24, 2011

COLD callers claiming to be from a housing association have tried to get into elderly peoples' homes in Farnborough.

But First Wessex Housing Association said the two men were nothing to do with it and warned residents not to let them in.

The men have been knocking on doors in Aldwick Close, Grace Bennett Close and Holywell Close since the morning of August 23.

First Wessex said people should not let them in and inform police if they try to get in.

For more on this story, see the Farnborough News & Mail, out on August 26.

well first wessex blokes should show there i.d when going into old peoples houses, they haven't done so yet when going to my mothers they just know on the door and say there from first wessex, but as my mum usually has to ask for about 3 months before anything gets done i'm surprised that anyone thinks that someone would come from them in the first place
