A PENSIONER from Aldershot is in a serious condition in hospital after a crash involving two pedestrians and a motorcyclist.

The 66-year-old woman was one of three people hurt following the collision which happened on the junction of Victoria Road and Station Road in Aldershot at 12.38pm on Sunday (October 2).

Police are now appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the accident or its aftermath to come forward.

The crash also injured another pedestrian, a 74-year-old man, and the 25-year-old motorcyclist, both from Aldershot, although neither are believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

A number of roads in the town centre were closed off to traffic for almost four hours while a police teams studied the area where the collision took place.

Jay Hewes, investigating officer and temporary Sergeant of Hampshire Constabulary’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “Police would like to thank motorists and pedestrians for their patience and co-operation while these roads were closed. We appreciate the assistance of members of the public who stopped at the scene to offer help to the casualties.

“It was a busy afternoon in Aldershot town centre so the Roads Policing Unit is renewing an appeal for witnesses who we believe saw the movements of the motorcyclist and both pedestrians moments before the collision.

“Officers are keeping families and close friends of those injured informed about the investigation. We’re grateful for the assistance of Aldershot’s Nepalese community as this is where the two injured pedestrians live.”

Anyone with information about the collision should contact the Roads Policing Unit at Farnborough Police Station by phoning 101 or 0845 045 45 45, quoting Operation Lakenheath. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

T/Sgt Hewes will not monitor this site. Bearing in mind a lady is seriously injured, is it too hard for you to make a call again? 0845 045 45 45 - leave a message for him.. nice and easy..
