Passenger in hospital after serious crash

By Stephanie Cockroft
December 12, 2011

A TEENAGER was seriously injured in a crash near Aldershot on Wednesday.

The 17-year-old woman is receiving treatment at Frimley Park Hospital for serious fracture injuries, following the incident on the Bourley Road.

Police say the incident took place around 8pm, when a Vauxhall Corsa, in which the woman was a passenger, collided with a tree as it travelled from Aldershot to Fleet.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Fleet, told police he was trying to avoid an oncoming taxi, possibly a black cab, when the crash happened.

The driver was not injured.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, particularly the other driver involved or anyone who might have been using that route at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Jade Rudd at Farnborough police station on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.

Minicom users should contact 01962 875000.
