By Stephanie CockroftDecember 28, 2011
A MAN was left with head injuries after being kicked repeatedly by a group of men as he lay on the ground, police say.
The 46-year-old sustained head, hip and knee injuries following the unprovoked attack in Aldershot.
Police say the man was standing at the junction of Waterloo Road and the High Street, just before 5am on Friday, December 16, when a group of four men approached him from the Waterloo Road direction.
The men, believed to all be aged about 20, threw stones towards the victim and then surrounded him.
The man, who tried to run away, fell over into the forecourt of the Jet garage, where police say the group kicked him several times to the head and body.
The group then ran off towards Waterloo Road.
Police say one suspect was wearing a black hooded top.
PC Donna Free said: “This was a unprovoked attack on a member of the public. It was very early in the morning, but it is believed there were people in the area at the time who may have seen something.”
