Burst water main causes morning train delays
By Laura NightingaleMarch 09, 2012
A BURST water pipe caused damage to part of the track at Farnham railway station on Friday morning, causing problems for commuters travelling between London and Hampshire.
The Alton to Waterloo line was affected by the incident in the early hours, but South West Trains said the line was reopened at around 10am following emergency engineering works.
The burst water main was at the Station Hill level crossing.
Delays of up to 45 minutes were experienced during the morning, with a replacement bus service operating between Farnham and Aldershot for a time.
