Stars of future learn from Hollyoaks favourite

A FORMER Hollyoaks actress has been teaching youngsters all about the life of a television star.
Victoria Atkin, who spent two years on the hit Channel 4 show, hosted two two-day acting masterclasses in the Memorial Hall, Church Crookham last week.
“All the participants were extremely talented and came to the class with bundles of enthusiasm," said Victoria, who grew up in Farnborough and was head girl at Fernhill Comprehensive School.
"I very much encouraged them to ask lots of questions and not to judge themselves for asking anything. Starting out in the acting profession can be a minefield and I just wanted to put everyone that came along at ease and give them a feel for what it is like on a television set as an actor/actress."
Victoria left Fernhill in 2003 before going to Farnborough Sixth Form College and then to the Central School of Speech and Drama in Swiss Cottage.
From there Victoria landed one of most controversial female acting roles of all time and a first for British television, playing trans gender teen and series regular Jasmine/Jason Costello.
Victoria also made a recent guest appearance on Holby City as an ex-soldier suffering from Foreign Accent Syndrome.
Her masterclasses are designed for aspiring young actors and actresses aged between eight and 16.
Those taking part spent two days with Victoria learning the skills it requires to become a television and film actor.
"For those who missed out this time I will be back at Christmas at the same venue for a second Masterclass open to all abilities aged 8 to 16," said Victoria.
"I am looking forward to hearing their progress when we reconvene, although I have very much encouraged them to keep me up to date via our Facebook group.
"To give some of the knowledge back that I have learnt is hugely rewarding. I'm excited to meet another batch new young thespians at Christmas."
