By Tim HarrisSeptember 24, 2012
A MAN was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after coming off his motorbike in a road crash near Farnborough on Saturday.
Police are searching for witnesses after the 23-year-old man, from Bracknell, was thrown off his bike on the M3 motorway.
The rider was travelling northbound between Junctions 4A and 4, at around 3.40pm, when the crash happened.
Hampshire Police said the man landed in the middle of the carriageway, after he was thrown from his red Moto Guzzi motorbike.
The rider was helped by passing motorists, and was then taken to Frimley Park Hospital with serious leg, arm and internal injuries.
Police confirmed he was then moved to St George's Hospital, in Tooting, to receive specialist treatment.
A spokesman for Hampshire Police said: “Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have seen the motorcycle prior to the collision should contact Sergeant Andy Tester at Whitchurch Road Policing Unit, quoting operation Cobra."
The M3 northbound was closed for three hours, but the southbound carriageway was partially opened after about an hour.
