AN amateur theatre group was left wishing the recent heavy snowfall had never happened.

For the severe weather forced Hartley Arts Group (HAG) to cancel its opening night performance of Aladdin.com last Friday.

But despite the icy blast, the show went on the next day with the Saturday matinee being sold out and now HAG is planning more fun on Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week.

The show features dancers from Velmead Junior School in Fleet performing ballet to one of the Nutcracker pieces and a jive to Olly Murs’ hit Dance With Me Tonight.

“Last Saturday’s matinee was sold out and everyone enjoyed the show and thought the little dancers were wonderful,” said HAG member Helen Lewis.

“Our show is dedicated to Jan Davies, a HAG committee member for many years and our dedicated box office lady as well as production manager for many, many wonderfully successful shows, who sadly passed away recently.”

The remaining shows are being held in the Victoria Hall, Hartley Wintney, at 7.45pm with a Saturday matinee at 2pm.

A pre-theatre dinner is again being held at the Courtyard cafe in Hartley Wintney.
