Bomb disposal team called to Farnborough

By Phoebe Morgan

A BOMB disposal unit was called to an address in Cove Road, Farnborough, after police officers received an allegation of a person making threats to kill.

A search warrant was executed on Thursday morning, and officers were still at the scene in the afternoon searching through a house, garage and several cars.

A property was cordoned off by police tape. Officers with several vehicles have been in the area since 12.30pm and residents were advised to avoid the road as the traffic is congested.

A 60-year-old woman from Farnborough has been arrested and is currently being held in police custody.

The bomb disposal unit left the area at around 5pm although police officers remained at the scene.

The incident followed a bomb scare in Staines the day before, which saw parts of the town centre cordoned off after a suspicious package was found.
