Tuesday, June 5 Jubilee tea family event on the lawn at High Cross Church, Camberley, from 2pm to 4.30pm. Enjoy cake and hat competitions, quizzes, and treasure hunt.
Tuesday, June 5 Fleet Carnival Strictly Tea Dancing. The Harlington, Fleet, 8pm-11pm. Tickets are available on the night for £5. All proceeds will be donated directly to Stepping Stones DS.
Tuesday, June 5 Fleet Lions Club is staging a Last Night of the Proms celebration in The Church On The Heath, Elvetham Heath. The free evening, featuring music by the Pelly Concert Orchestra, is exclusively for those who were already born when the Queen took the throne. Those attending are urged to dress for the occasion with banners, flags, waistcoats, hats and bonnets, as there will be a prize for the best dressed. Please include your name, address, a contact phone number and if you need transport. Collections will be from 6.45pm with seating by 7.30pm. The show starts at 7.45pm and ends at 10pm. Refreshments will be available.
Tuesday, June 5 Jubilee Picnic on the Green, Yateley, from 2pm to 5pm. Bring a picnic and blanket for an afternoon of celebrations. The day will feature Bagshot Concert Band, bouncy castle and slide, refreshments, rgg and spoon, three-legged and wheelbarrow races, hoopla and tug of war.
Tuesday, June 5 Diamond Jubilee family walk around Fleet's Elvetham Heath estate. Starting from the Village Green at 10.30am, the walk will take in the nature reserve, woodland walks, village pond and several of the children's playgrounds. The event is being organised by Hart Lions Club and supported by Elvetham Heath Parish Council. After the walk, everyone is invited to stay and picnic on the village green or buy food from the barbecue manned by The Church on the Heath. Picnics can be safely stored at The Key Centre while people complete the walk. Registration forms are available at the church or the Key Centre or can be downloaded from www.hartlions.org.uk. The cost is £2 per adult, payable on the day of the walk, and there is no charge for children. Half of the proceeds will be donated to this year's Fleet Carnival charity, Stepping Stones DS. Wednesday, June 6 Three royal-themed films will be played at Princes Hall in Aldershot. The Queen (2.30pm). The Young Victoria (5pm). The Kings Speech (7.30pm). To celebrate the Jubilee, tickets for each film will only cost the price of going to the cinema in 1952, 1s/8d - which is 8p in today's money.
Friday, June 8 A special Diamond Jubilee version of the famous stage show We'll Meet Again will take place at Aldershot Princes Hall at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £10.50 - £12.50.
Tuesday, June 12 A tea dance will take place at Aldershot Princes Hall at 2pm. Tickets cost 10d - 4p in today's money - for under 60s. Tickets are free to those born before 1952.
Saturday, June 14 A Diamond Jubilee concert featuring the RCT Ass Concert Band will take place at Princes Hall at 2pm. Tickets are £10 from 01252 692026. |
