Reward for Worner after injury setback

ROSS WORNER is looking to soften the blow of his latest injury setback - by scooping a top award.
Aldershot stopper Worner has been nominated for the npower League Two Player of the Month award for February, following in the footsteps of team-mate Danny Hylton, who won the award back in October.
But news of Worner’s nomination came in the same week that it emerged that the back injury suffered in the recent game at Macclesfield is worse than first feared and is likely to end his season.
Also nominated for an award is Aldershot boss Dean Holdsworth, who paid tribute to his young keeper.
“Ross has been outstanding for us and fully deserves to be nominated for Player of the Month,” he said. “His injury is a bad one and couldn’t have come at a worse time.
"It looks unlikely we'll see him again this season, that is a big blow.”
Holdsworth, who is nominated for a Manager’s award alongside Swindon’s Paolo Di Canio and Bradford’s Phil Parkinson, added: “I’m delighted with the nomination, it’s a great testament to my staff and to the whole squad.”
