Herd: Time we gave fans some Christmas cheer
By Jon CouchDecember 13, 2012
CAPTAIN Ben Herd has said it is high time Aldershot Town gave their home fans some Christmas cheer as they prepare to entertain Rochdale on Saturday (December 15).
The Shots have won just one of their 10 league matches at the EBB Stadium this season, scoring just three goals along the way.
And Herd believes it is time the home form is addressed, starting with three points against mid-table Dale at the weekend, themselves on the back of three straight defeats under enigmatic boss John Coleman.
“We’ve turned the tables away from home but we still have a lot to prove at home," Herd insisted.
"Hopefully with a week to go before Christmas we can give our fans some festive cheer.
"We've come away from Oxford disappointed with a draw so that just goes to show how far we've come in the last month or so.
"Hopefully the lads can show the same workrate, determination and character and replicate that form at home.
"It'll be a good game. Rochdale are a good team with good pedigree and like to get the ball down and play.
John Coleman is a good manager, he's done his time at Accrington, got his chance at Rochdale last season in a higher division but couldn't quite keep them up.
"I quite like him, he's a fiery character who always has something to say... I don't think he likes me too much though, he's always having a go at me."
