FA Cup hero Hylton named player of the round
By Jon CouchDecember 18, 2012
ALDERSHOT Town striker Danny Hylton has been voted as the Budweiser Player of the Round for his performance in the Shots' fine 3-2 victory at Fleetwood in the FA Cup second round a fortnight ago.
In-form Hylton netted twice at Highbury Stadium as the Shots booked themselves a third round date at home to Notts County or Rotherham United.
Hylton collected 59% of the nationwide public vote ahead of Lincoln City’s Alan Power, MK Dons duo Stephen Gleeson and Jon Otsemobor and Sheffield United’s Shaun Miller.
He will now receive a commemorative Player of the Round trophy and be invited to this season’s FA Cup Final at Wembley as a guest of competition sponsors Budweiser and The Football Association.
Hylton tweeted on Tuesday morning: "FA Cup player of round 2 Buzzzzzzing!!!! Thanks for every1 that voted! Wembley FA cup final here I come!"
Team-mate Peter Vincenti is still waiting to hear if his 35-yard cracker in the same game will be voted the Budweiser Goal of the Round.
