Double FA Cup boost for Shots star Hylton
By Jon CouchJanuary 08, 2013
DANNY HYLTON has received a double boost after his FA Cup rollercoaster ride at the EBB Stadium.
The Aldershot Town striker netted a sublime hat-trick to set up a 3-1 win over Rotherham United in the third round but then tarnished his performance by getting sent off late on.
A subsequent three-match ban would have seen Hylton suspended for the eagerly-awaited fourth round trip to Middlesbrough, but the club has since re-arranged a home league game with Northampton Town on Tuesday, January 22, which means the Shots frontman will be free to make the trip to the Riverside Stadium.
A delighted Hylton tweeted this week: "Game re-arranged!!! Buzzing!!! See you at the Riverside! #FACup."
And as a double bonus, Hylton has also been nominated for the Budweiser Player of the Round award for the second round running as a result of his match-winning display.
Hylton, with seven goals to his name in the FA Cup so far this season - three more than any other player - won the Second Round award after netting twice in a 3-2 victory at Fleetwood Town.
The 24-year-old is nominated along with Macclesfield striker Matthew Barnes-Homer, Luton's Alex Lawless and Brighton & Hove Albion pair Liam Bridcutt and Andrea Ordlandi.
You can register your vote for Hylton by visiting www.thefa.com/TheFACup/News/2013/Jan/budweiser-player-of-the-third-round. Votes must be cast by Tuesday, January 15.
