Football: Farnborough takeover on track
By Jon CouchJanuary 05, 2012
SPENCER DAY has said he hopes the takeover of Farnborough FC can be completed by the end of next week.
The club’s board of directors are considering an offer from a consortium run by former Farnborough Town captain Tim O’Shea, while Day is currently in possession of the club’s shares, albeit “reluctantly” according to the boss himself.
“I’m hoping something will be done in the next 10 days,” Day said.
“The parties dealing with it seem to be coming to their conclusions and then there’ll be a period of legals, just like for any takeover, but I’m as keen as anyone to get that concluded.
“Nothing has happened over the Christmas break but I’m expecting things to be told to me later this week and next week.”
