Aldershot Town have been drawn to play Margate or East Thurrock away in the first round of the FA Trophy.

The tie will be played on the weekend of December 10/11 as all 24 National League clubs enter the foray, alongside the 40 other clubs who have made it through the third qualifying round.

Aldershot Town will be looking to progress to the Second Round for the first time since 2014, but have twice reached the Semi-Final of the competition, in 2004 and 2008, losing to Hednesford Town and Ebbsfleet United respectively.

The final will be held at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, May 21 as part of Non League finals day, which will see the Fa Vase and Trophy finals be played back-to-back at the national stadium.

Last year, Halifax Town beat Grimsby 1-0 thanks to a Scott McManus 48th minute winner, while the Shots were knocked out in the first round having been beaten 1-0 by Eastleigh.
