Brave son lost beloved toy

14/ 8/2008

My five-year-old son had to attend Frimley Park A&E on Tuesday morning after slicing off a piece of his finger. He took with him his much loved doggy soft toy for comfort and was very brave!

However later that evening I discovered that Doggy was missing and thought perhaps the nanny had washed him (after being spotted with blood from the finger) and put him somewhere to dry.

The following day we realised neither the nanny nor I could find him and the nanny told me he had taken the Doggy to the hospital, but I know when walked back out to the car park my son was not carrying Doggy.

We’ve contacted the hospital and spoken to the lovely nurses in Paediatric A&E.  They had definitely seen Doggy recently but he was no longer where they had seen him. Their conclusion is that either another child has taken him home or the housekeeping staff may have disposed of him.

I am trying to get in touch with the hospital housekeeping/cleaning to see if anyone knows where he is, and would like to appeal to Star readers to see if anyone knows of a child who may have taken Doggy home with them for comfort after visiting A&E.

I know this is low priority to everyone else, but to my son it is devastating.

We have had difficult bedtimes and hours of sobbing in the middle of the night because Doggy is his much travelled, constant companion and he misses him dreadfully.

Doggy is beige with brown spots, a soft round dumpy body, squat legs and a lovely big smile on a cream face.
Could Star readers possibly help re-unite these best friends?
