With the summer in full swing, there's plenty going on around Surrey and north-east Hampshire.

From a food and drink festival in Thames Ditton to a car show in Dorking, you're sure to find something worth getting out of the house for.

1. Outdoor theatre

ESHER: Chapterhouse Theatre Company will bring its production of The Wind in the Willows to Claremont Landscape Garden on July 22. The event starts at 7pm with gates open at 6pm. 2. Food and drink festival

THAMES DITTON: Taste of Thames Ditton food, beer and music festival returns on July 22 with a jam-packed day of family fun and artisian products. Open 12pm-8pm at The Old Cranleigh Club, Portsmouth Road, KT7 0HB. Entry costs £5 for adults and £2.50 for children, under 5s go free. Open 1.30pm-5pm at Ripley Village Green.

3. The Ripley Event

RIPLEY: The annual Ripley Event returns on July 22 with ring entertainment and stalls, children's entertainer, bouncy castle, pony rides, dog show, vehicle display and tea tent. Entry and parking is free.

4. Pub lunch

FARNBOROUGH: It's not very often you see a new pub open, but one just has in Farnborough. Located opposite Morrisons supermarket in Southwood, The Sarsen Stones is a modern pub and restaurant offering a huge menu of British classics, plus a few quirky additions. 5. Summer cocktails

FARNHAM: Thai restaurant chain Giggling Squid, which has restaurants across Surrey including Farnham has added an exciting range of drinks to its menu. 6. Village Show

HORSELL: The annual village show returns on July 22 with fun for all the family including competitions, a barn dance, stalls and food and drink. Open 1.30pm-5pm. Adult entry costs £2, children under 15 go free. Address: Horsell CofE School, Meadway Drive, GU21 4TA

7. Free museums

We are surrounded by world-class exhibitions, stunning art galleries and historic houses offering families a fun and cultural day out. What's more, may of them are completely free. So if you are looking for ways to entertain the kids this weekend, head to one of the museums listed below.

8. Boss Car Fest

DORKING: See rare and beautiful supercars, classic and modified cars along with dream rides at Boss Car Fest in aid of The Children's Trust charity on July 22. 9. Vintage fair

GODALMING: Browse vintage and artisan stalls, enjoy delightful live music of Miss Holiday Swing, get yourself a vintage style make-over, keep the kids happy with a vintage min carousel and traditional games and don't miss a classic car and motorcycle show at Godalming's Vintage Fair. Held in aid of Meath Epilepsy Charity, the event will be held on July 22 from 10am-5pm at Westbrook Road, GU7 2QH. Entry costs £3.

10. Family festival

WEST CLANDON: A family festival with live music, children's entertainment, food and drink, stalls and pony rides will be held on July 22 from 12pm-9pm. Held in aid of Clandon Junior School, adult entry costs £15 and children under 14 go free. Address: The Street, GU4 7TD
