Playing the maid to Lady Cora Crawley, 45-year-old Cassidy said being on the Downton Abbey set had been "a joy"
Fleet actress Raquel Cassidy makes her eagerly awaited debut in Downton Abbey this Sunday (October 20).
Millions of viewers will tune in at 9pm for episode five of the new series, in which the former Farnborough Hill pupil will make her entrance as Baxter, maid to Lady Cora Crawley, the mistress of Downton Abbey who is played by American actress Elizabeth McGovern.
From then on she will be a regular character throughout the series.
Cassidy, 45, is not allowed to reveal anything about plot lines in the show, but she told Get Hampshire: "Everyone is so warm, welcoming and friendly.
"And just to be on the same set as legendary stars like Maggie Smith, Shirley Maclaine and Hugh Bonneville is a joy.”
