Famous for their mighty burgers, Victory Pub and Kitchen boasts all the features of a classic pub but with an added modern twist.

Located in the grounds of the Village Urban Resort in Farnborough, the pub has the traditional feel of your favourite local including pub grub, televised sports and comfy armchairs.

Around the corner from Farnborough Main railway station and situated in the heart of the town, the venue is a convenient place to watch the big match, or meet with friends and colleagues at the start, middle or end of a busy day.

Priding itself on its classic, smokey, chicken, veggie and chilli burgers, Victory Pub and Kitchen has recently launched a new menu crammed with bar snacks, hearty dinners and tempting puds.

Items include a basket of chips and a plate of lamb koftas featuring a huge pile of salty fries accompanied with dollops of ketchup and mayonnaise and four skewers of juicy red meat.

You have to be hungry to choose the full rack of barbecue pork ribs – a wooden board stacked with chunky, sticky, meaty ribs. This dish is certainly not for the faint-hearted.

The pub has a retro feel with its leather-bound chairs, tall bar stools, low silver lamps and diner experience.

Danielle Enderson, hotel sales manager, said the reason behind changing the menu was part of an ambition to appeal more to locals.

She said: “Even though we are a hotel, a huge amount of what we are about is the local community.

“This is what we are really trying to focus on and drive our food and drink at the venue. It is a hotel but it is also a local pub.

“We have recently changed our menu and have included offers and competitions to appeal to locals. The man versus burger challenge is something fun and it seems to have taken off.

“We have a snooker table and darts board and we aim to become a local pub destination.

“We also have a terraced area outside for guests to enjoy.”

One of the various food challenges is Sayonara hunger. If guests can devour 40 hot wings in under 10 minutes on a Friday, they will dine for free and receive a T-shirt for their efforts.

Another ambitious Friday task is The V Stack challenge consisting of a 15oz burger topped with beef chilli and swiss cheese.

If you can polish it off within 15 minutes, you will dine for free, plus get a T-shirt too.

For those who can squeeze in a dessert, there is a choice of the unbeatable sticky toffee pudding, hot waffles, toffee and caramel sundae, vanilla ice cream or tea and cake.

Sandwiches, wraps, clubs, subs, flat breads and salt-baked potatoes are some of the typical lunch items available.

Victory pop chicken, nachos and chicken wings are suited for a light snack with a bucket of beers and a mezze platter with hummus, olives and pitta bread is perfect for sharing. If that’s not enough to tempt you, there is also a selection of starters, salads and hot dogs and the bar is loaded with a good variety of beers, ales, ciders, wine, spirits and soft drinks.
