Pub putting on charity days during Farnborough Air Show

The Gloster in O'Gorman Avenue, Farnborough, will let customers watch the air show and enjoy various special events for £5 a day

A pub is offering a discount way to watch the Farnborough Air Show.

The Gloster plans to take advantage of its location in O'Gorman Avenue, next to Farnborough Airport, by letting customers watch the spectacular displays in grandstand seating for just £5 a day.

The Farnborough-boozer, part of the Hungry Horse chain, will be staging special events for charity between July 15 and 20.

These include a marquee beer festival, a hog roast, face painting, a beat the keeper competition, live music in the evening on July 18 and 19 including the band Soldout, and a £500 raffle.

Cash raised will be split between Macmillan Cancer Support and a fundraising campaign in memory of young Emma Smart, who died from leukemia aged just six on New Year's Day in 2013.

Landlady Sandra Paul runs the pub with her husband Craig, and their children Jay, 28, and Lauren, 20, work as a chef and assistant manager respectively.

Mrs Paul said: "If you come here and pay £5 you will get the fantastic atmosphere and the perfect view. It is a win-win situation for everybody."
