THE Camberley Theatre will be presenting an evening of music from one of this country's greatest musical talents when Alan Price performs at the venue on July 18.

First rising to fame in the 1960s as a member of The Animals, Alan Price and bandmate Eric Burdon were responsible for some of the era's biggest hits including House Of The Rising Sun, Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood and Gotta Get Out Of This Place.

He was a pivotal figure in the 1960s music scene and his circle of musical acquaintances included Bob Dylan and Georgie Fame.

Following his departure from The Animals, Alan Price went on to have the most succesful solo career out of all his fellow band members.

Some of his best loved solo hits include The House That Jack Built, Simon Smith And His Amazing Dancing Bear and the haunting Jarrow Song.

Promising a show which encompasses all eras of his musical life, the original Geordie lad will be telling his story with some fascinating anecdotes along with performances of songs from a back catalogue which can only be described as legendary.

The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost £14. Call the box office on 01276 707600.
