Two local girls will be centre stage in front of more than 1,300 people later this month after winning TotStars — Mini Rivals.

Lucia Potter, nine, and Juliette Glossop, 12, both from Sandhurst, will be appearing in Roald Dahl’s family adventure George’s Marvellous Medicine at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking.

They will be taking on the role of the Shrunken Granny at various performances of the show.

TotStars — Mini Rivals was the competition staged by the theatre to look for young stars to appear in the show, which runs from April 22–26.

Open auditions were held in Woking in early March, with nearly 30 hopefuls attending. The panel of judges included Peter Gordon and Breakfast Bev from 96.4 The Eagle.

The girls were asked to perform a series of improvisations, with the judges looking for lots of energy, attitude and enthusiasm. In the end their decision was unanimous.

No strangers to the spotlight, Lucia and Juliette both attend Lafour Dance and Theatre School in Sandhurst.

They go to Saturday classes in Sandhurst and Bracknell, where they combine singing, dancing and drama.

Juliette also attends the Lorna Timms Dance School.
