The White Russians are set to invade Aldershot

THERE will be a friendly invasion of Aldershot’s Princes Hall on May 30, with musical instruments used as weapons of peace.

The Central Band of the White Russian Army will be joined by the NATO All Stars band and guest soloists from the Bolshoi Opera for a ‘Russian Spectacular’.

The unique event will also feature dancers from the Belarussian National Folk Dance Academy and marks the 50th anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation.

The band, who hail from Minsk in the heart of White Russia (Belarus), includes some of the best performers the country has to offer.

As one of the finest military orchestras in the world, they successfully combine traditional local folk music with a wide range of modern band favourites and international music.

Their extensive repertoire makes them one of the most sought-after groups of musicians in the world, and the band will be under the direction of two great conduct-ors, Col Alexander Fedorov and Lt Col Vladimir Voropayev.

Tickets are now on sale from £9.50 and are available from the box office on 01252 329155.
