Organisers are gearing up for this year's Gig on the Green and they say it will be the best yet.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the one-day music festival on Yateley Green on Saturday June 28.

The 2014 line-up includes Only One Direction and With the Beatles among the tribute acts and it will also see more local talent than ever before with the winners of the Battle of the Pub singers and the young people's competition the Y Factor and acoustic sets from other home-grown artists in between the headline acts.

This week, posters advertising the event have started appearing all over the town.

The posters were designed by Hugo Loynes, an 18-year-old A-level student at Yateley School, from Green Lane in Blackwater.

Hugo's poster was chosen by organisers Yateley Sports CIC as the winning entry in a design competition.

Hugo said: "I wanted to stick with the branding of Gig on the Green but make it modern and fresh.

"I was delighted to win the competition.

"Gig on the Green is a great event and lots of fun for everyone. I am looking forward to this year's event."

Tickets are still available – £20 for adults and £12 for eight to 17 year olds. They can be bought online at www.gigonthegreen.co.uk or from Discoveries, next to St Peter's Church, Yateley, Romans in Reading Road, Yateley, or McDonalds in either Fleet or Camberley.

But you can win free tickets to the music spectacular courtesy of the News & Mail and Get Hampshire .
