Farnborough Air Show continued to grow during the 1970s and 1980s as planes from further afield attended.

It was a time when Concorde appeared and when planes such as the Lockheed SR-71 flew from New York in under two hours in 1974.

Other notable moments include the first appearance of the new Red Arrows BAe Hawks in 1980 and the 1986 show which featured the world's heaviest aircraft, the Antonov An-124 and the first appearance of Soviet combat aircraft in the west as the Russian Air Force sent a pair of Mig-29s.

Thanks to a number of photos from Terry Caws, you can enjoy looking at some of the planes which flew in the skies above Farnborough during the 1970s and 1980s.
