First World War dogfight breaks out above air show

The Great War Display team marked 100 years since the start of the conflict with a display above the crowds at Farnborough

Machine gun fire was heard in the skies as a dogfight ensued above the crowds at the Farnborough Air Show.

The Great War Display Team, which flies replica British and German fighters from the First World War, was booked by organisers to mark the 100th anniversary of the conflict beginning.

Their display followed on from the amazing bravery of the Breitling Wingwalkers.

The distinctive orange by-planes took to the skies with their daredevils strapped to the top for an entertaining flying display which involved plenty of smoke.
