A schoolboy in Aldershot has become the star of a Channel 4 trailer for the upcoming series of Made in Chelsea.
Jaxson Jennings, seven, took on the role of a junior Spencer Matthews in the Mini in Chelsea trailer, starring child versions of the London socialite characters whose show has proved a hit across the country.
The St Joseph’s School pupil got to meet the real Spencer to get some tips on how to perfect his moody stares and manipulative behaviour.
The result was Jaxson playing the role to a tee, storming out of the South Kensington nightclub at the end of the trailer for some peace next to the Thames after a falling out with the mini Andy over joint love interest mini Louise at his birthday party.
Jaxson’s father Anthony said the role had come about when his son gained an agent after winning a talent competition run by Park Resorts during a holiday last year, where he had the audience and judges in fits at his stand-up routine.
“They rang us up and said there was an audition in Oxford Street so he went along,” he said. “The next day they called and said he had got the part of Spencer.
“Spencer said he wanted to take him home. The whole crew loved him.”
While a full Mini in Chelsea series is unlikely, despite pleas from fans of the trailer, Jaxson has since auditioned for a part in the BBC adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot, starring Dustin Hoffman and Dame Judi Dench, which is due to be filmed in the coming months.
“We’re really proud of what he has achieved,” said Anthony.
“He’s a good lad with all the confidence in the world. I aspire to be like him – to be ballsy and stand up and say what you want. Hopefully he will go on to bigger and better things.”
Series seven of the reality show continues to follow the lives of the elite young people who live in some of London’s most exclusive postcodes.
The new series of Made In Chelsea is on E4 and begins on Monday April 7 at 10pm.
