Free taxi travel for elderly under threat

TAXI tokens used by pensioners and disabled people for their everyday transport needs are under threat.

Vulnerable people in Fleet and Yateley have been relying on the free national travel scheme for essential visits to places like doctors surgeries and post offices since April 2008.

The current system, administered by Hart District Council, is an alternative to the free local bus passes for people of retirement age.
