AN emotional Justin Rose pointed to the sky after landing his first Major title on Father's Day and whispered "that one's for you, Dad".

The Fleet-based ace became the first Englishman to lift the US Open trophy in 43 years after coming through a brutally tough final day at Merion to post a level-par 70 and see off the challenge of home favourite Phil Mickelson and Australian Jason Day by two clear shots.
